Koala Edward - our first male research participant

Koala Edward found himself in a dangerous situation, where he was chased by a dog and narrowly escaped with only minor injuries. 

Edward is currently being tracked by Federation University & Shanhaven Shelter as part of our Ballarat Koala Research Project. He has made his way safely across the Midland Highway and is heading across the bushland.

We are doing our best in this quest to save our future generations of our iconic Koala and that does not happen without a team from advocacy to care and release, it’s all essential!

BWRAC provided seed funding to Federation University through a Ministerial grant executed by Andy Meddick, AJP and supported by the Victorian Government through the Wildlife Protection and Support Package 2022-23, administered by DEECA.
