Ballarat Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation Inc (BWRAC) was founded by volunteer wildlife rescuers and carers and veterinary professionals. Our mission is to rehabilitate wildlife that has experienced injury or trauma and advocates to influence and protect Australia’s wildlife habitat biodiversity. We do this by providing specialised care, lobbying for policy and industry reform, undertaking research and educating the public.
We are a not for profit, charitable organisation that is run solely by volunteers. Membership fees and all donations go towards the care and rehabilitation of wildlife, advocacy campaigns, administrative costs and the production of educational resources.
We encourage our members to be active in the care and support of wildlife, or help to support those who are. There are numerous ways to engage and get involved with BWRAC. Being an active member is as easy as choosing to share our social media posts, that is a great way to help us reach a broader audience. Perhaps there is one task or activity that you would like to help out with - some of the tasks include: sewing joey pouches, making nest boxes, updating the website, writing articles about our success stories or helping to setup and packup at a market. Please contact the Secretary if you would like to talk through how you might be able to help BWRAC.
Membership is from 1 July to 30 June and costs $25 per person for a full membership. An associate membership is available to persons under 15 years of age and that fee is $12.50. Members must agree with our Mission & Purpose and Rules / Terms & Conditions.
