Supporting Wildlife Carers

BWRAC Supporting our wildlife carers

At the 2023 inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM), a motion was passed that will see BWRAC create a grant or reimbursement program in order to help our shelters and wildlife medical/first responders. These volunteers incur a huge financial cost, not to mention the time that they also put into rehabilitating our local wildlife.

BWRAC is in the process of formulating a grant or reimbursement process and we have an ambitious goal that the programme be established and operating within twelve months, ie by December 2024.

BWRAC will also need to fundraise or seek grants/funding specifically to support this initiative. We anticipate that this new initiative should become an annual event. We will also need to set the criteria for who can apply and what will be funded etc. It is anticipated that applicants would need to be BWRAC members.

There is a huge personal, financial burden on shelters and medical responders who treat and care for our wildlife. There are some avenues for grants or funding through the likes of Wildlife Victoria and Wires, but there is an opportunity for BWRAC to make a positive impact in this regard too.

We welcome any support to help us get this programme up and running quickly. You can make a donation via either direct debit to our bank or PayPal. Here are the details:
